Yuen, a painter most of the time working on a 2-dimensional medium now breaks
the frames of canvas, making possibilities for her imagery to be immersed
into such a tiny exhibition space. "Recollection of Memories"
is a work she makes to transform the exhibition space into a symbolic altar
for her personal memories. She paints images of life on scraps of silk.
On the wall, all these figurative images are always at close-up and displayed
in forms like flowers. This reflects the artist's painstaking efforts to
remember her own world. |
