In the coming July until January next year, this group of local young designers will once again hold their 3rd exhibition together. The name of the exhibition is '¥Wbits, cloud rice, the 3rd crop' (¡u¥W²É¡Ð¶³¦Ì¤T³y¡v). There will be 7 young designers participating in this exhibition with each of them showing for a month (a total of 7 months for 7 designers) at the Para/Site Central, small alternative exhibition space sponsored by Hanart TZ Gallery in Central. As the theme (specifically the Chinese title) does not suggest any conventional meaning, along with the cultural and social context of 'cloud' and 'rice', there will be a new 'crop' of imagination growing from these 7 young designers.

From 'between dichotomy' in the 1st crop to 'the space of a dialogue' in the 2nd crop, Johnson Chui has been exploring the visual experiences of concepts interpreted through graphic manipulation of a unique space. In the upcoming exhibition '¥Wbits, cloud rice, the 3rd crop', Johnson will exhibit another piece of work called 'The Space Between Duality'. He will once again create another visual and conceptual experience by using elements which he employed in previous exhibition: the conceptual idea of dichotomy and the visual representation of a cube, along with the theme of 'cloud, rice' and ''¥Wbits' and the unique space of Para/Site Central@Hanart.

A group of local young designers have got together and did 2 mixed-media installations named 'cloud > rice' at the Hong Kong Arts Centre and 'SIZE cloud rice, the 2nd crop' at the Fringe Club in May and October last year. With the two themes, they tried to portray their thoughts and feelings through their own points of view; at the same time, each of them created their own ways to present the work with thorough considerations of the unique space of the venues. With these exhibitions, they are questioning the possibilities of a 2-dimensional medium in a 3-dimensional space on one hand, and trying to fulfill their beliefs in the co-existence of the ideals and the reality on the other.
