Wang Chuan ¤ý¤t (b. 1953)

Born in Chengdu, Wang Chuan graduated from the Sichuan Art Academy and organized the first street exhibition in Shenzhen. His works are exhibited in ¡§Korean-Chinese Contemporary Ink Painting¡¨ (Seoul Museum of Art, 2005), ¡§Mulpa International Exhibition¡¨ (Seoul, 2005), ¡§The Trace of Life ¡V a Retrospective Exhibition of Arts Paintings by Wang Chuan¡¨ ( He Xiangning Museum of Art, 2001), Chineseche Tuschmalerel¡¨ (Herrenhof Mussbach, 1999) and ¡§New Arts in China Post-1989¡¨ (Hong Kong Arts Center, 1993). Otto Li §õ¤Ñ­Û (b.1980)

Born in Hong Kong, Otto Li Tin Lun graduated with a B.A. degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2003. His work focuses mainly on pop culture elements, like comics, soccer, animation, film and toys. Selected exhibitions include ¡§Octomania (on drawing the number eight)¡¨ (Para/Site Art Space, 2006), ¡§W. Cup Mania¡¨ (The Sun Arcade, 2006) and ¡§Playful Mind¡¨ (Shanghai Street Artspace, 2003). He was the recipient of the Ting Yen Yung Memorial Award (2001/2000) during his study at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His works are collected by private collectors.

Wilson Shieh ¥Û®a»¨ (b.1970)

Born in Hong Kong in 1970, Wilson Shieh received his B.A. and M.F.A. degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He works in Chinese fine-line style figure painting, with contents of sexuality, role-play, costume play and cultural symbols presented in a narrative approach. Selected exhibitions include ¡§Nan Yang - Ocean of the South¡¨ (Grotto Fine Art, 2005), ¡§Hong Kong Cityscapes - Ink Painting in Transition¡¨ (Hong Kong Museum of Art, 2003) and the Third Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (1999). Awards include Asian Artists Fellowship 2003, Freeman Foundation, Vermont Studio Center (2003) and Prize of Excellence, Hong Kong Art Biennial (2003).

Tsang Tak Ping ´¿¼w¥­ (b.1959)

Tsang Tak-ping was born in Hong Kong. He has been creating design, installation, performance, photography, publication and art and design criticism. Tsang is currently Associate Professor in the School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Tsang has exhibited extensively in Asia, Europe and North America including the 4 th Gwangju Biennale (2002), the 50 th Venice Biennale (2003), Hamburg, New York etc. Since 1999 he has been using a woman's name Chun Hau-ching to exhibit a series of feminine works to explore gender issues in visual art. He is the co-founder of Para/Site Art Space, an alternative space for the promotion of Hong Kong contemporary art by exhibition, publication, research and public forum since 1996. In 2002, Tsang co-founded Habitus Design Space to promote Hong Kong design through exhibition, publication and public forum.

Anothermountainman / Stanley Wong ¤S¤@¤s¤H (b.1960)

Born in 1960, Stanley Wong received his education and professional training in Hong Kong and work s in advertising film production. Best known for his redwhiteblue works, he has been exhibited internationally and represented Hong Kong in the 51 st Venice Biennale (2005). His other selected exhibited include the 1 st Shenzen Biennale of Urbanism / Architecture (OCAT, 2005), ¡§Dada / Force of Hangul¡¨ (The Loop Alternative, 2005), ¡§From London to Hong Kong to London¡¨ (London, 2005), ¡§Here there everywhere, redwhiteblue¡¨ (Canada, 2004), ¡§Building Hong Kong 10 / Zou ma kan hua¡¨ (Fabrica Features, 2003), the Hong Kong Art Biennial (2003/1999) and Shanghai International Poster Exhibition (Shanghai Art Museum, 1999). He has won more than 300 awards such as the Gold Award in Book Design in Graphic Design in China (2005), the Hong Kong Heritage Museum Provisional Regional Council Asian-Pacific Poster Exhibition Gold Award (1997) and Hong Kong Designers' Association Awards Gold Award (1994) . His works are included in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.

Kan Tai Keung àÚÔ´±j (b.1942)

Kan Tai Keung was born 1942 in China. He has been trained as a tailor, painter and designer, and in 1976 he started his own design company in Hong Kong. His works are highly appreciated, and the attention and awards he received have brought him to immediate prominence. He is now an internationally renowned designer and painter, whose works are collected and exhibited worldwide in private collections and museums. Award-winner of 2000 Outstanding Artists and Designers of the 20 th Century and World's Outstanding Chinese Designer (2004), Kan is also active in education and promoting art and design as a profession. His works are also featured in publications such as IDEA magazine, Ryuko Tsushin magazine and Morisawa Quarterly, Japan; Graphic, Switzerland; NOVUM, Germany; and Communication Arts, U.S.A.

Frog King aka Kwok Mang Ho µì¤ý³¢ (b.1947)

Frog King was born in China in 1947. He grew up in Hong Kong, experienced art life in New York for 15 years, and returned and settled down in Hong Kong in 1995. Frog King has produced numerous performances, sculptures, paintings and installations in over 3000 art events all over the world since 1967. As a multi-media artist, Frog King received his art training at the Fine Art Grantham College of Education in Hong Kong, and furthered his studies in the extramural courses of the Chinese University and the University of Hong Kong. He also pursued overseas studies at the Art Students League of New York.

Yuk King Tan ³¯¥Éã (b.1971)

Yuk King Tan was born in Australia and currently lives and works in Hong Kong. Brought up in New Zealand, she received her B.F.A. from the University of Auckland in 1993. Since 1994 she has exhibited in major solo and group exhibitions as well as in international Biennales in New Zealand, Europe, US and Asia. In 1999 Tan was Creative New Zealand artist in residence at Artspace, Sydney and the following year undertook a residency and exhibition at the Camden Arts Centre, London. She exhibited in ¡§Flight Patterns¡¨ at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and ¡§Local Transit¡¨ at Artist Space, New York. In 2002 she exhibited in the Baltic Triennial, Lithuania. Currently she is preparing a solo exhibition in Vietnam and a major project for the Auckland Triennial 2007.

Liu Jian ¼B°í (b.1961)

Liu Jian was born in Shanghai in 1961 and currently lives and works in Toronto, Canada. He received his art education at the Art Academy of the Chinese Liberation Army and has since exhibited widely internationally, including Warwick Arts Trust (London,1987), the Chinese Gallery of Art (New York, 1992), Centre Pompidou (Paris, 1993), Gallery d'arte Piazza Erbe, (Verona, 1995), Shanghai Art Museum (1995), Shenzhen International Ink Painting Biennale (1998/2000/2002/2004) and most recently the 2nd Shanghai Abstract Biennial (2006). Selected awards include First Runner-up in National Calligraphy Competition in China (1985) and Young Artist of China Grand Prize (1988). His works are collected by the Hong Kong Museum of Art, major international corporations and private collectors.

Tsang Chui Mei ´¿»AÁ¨ (b.1972)

Tsang Chui Mei obtained her B.A. and M.F.A. degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her works were exhibited in: ¡§Transporting Mindscapes ¡X Painting by Tsang Chui Mei¡¨(Fringe Club, 1998), ¡§Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition¡¨(1998/2003/2005), ¡§MoCA Envisage "Entry Gate ¡G Chinese Aesthetics of Heterogeneity"¡¨ (MoCA Shanghai, 2006) ¡§The Inner, Outer Sphere - Works from Eight Hong Kong Artists¡¨ (KX., Hamburg, 2006) and others. She has received the Hong Kong Urban Council Fine Arts Award in painting (1998), the Hong Kong Visual Arts Festival New Vision Award (2001), and was the Winner of the Hong Kong Philippe Charriol Foundation 20th Anniversary Art Competition (2005). Her works are being collected by the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Fringe Club, YOHO TOWN Hong Kong, Philippe Charriol Foundation, Grotto Fine Art and private collectors.

Cao Fei ±ä´´ (b.1978)

Born in Guangzhou in 1978, Cao Fei received her art training at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou. She currently lives and works in Beijing, China. Warren Leung Chi Wo ±ç§Ó©M (b.1968)

Born in Hong Kong in 1968 and graduated with a M.F.A. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Leung Chi Wo co-founded Para/Site Art Space in 1996. He is the recipient of many awards such as the Asian Cultural Council fellowship (1997), Urban Council Award of the Contemporary Hong Kong Art Biennial (1997), and the first prize in sculpture from the Philippe Charriol Art Foundation (1995). In 2001, his site-specific project was exhibited in the first Hong Kong pavilion of the Venice Biennale. He has held solo exhibitions in Hong Kong, New York, Toronto, Japan and Switzerland. Recently he exhibited in 6 th Busan Biennale (2006) and 2 nd Guangzhou Triennial (2005).

Jiang Zhi ½±§Ó (b. 1971)

Jinag Zhi was born in 1971 in Hunan and is currently working and living in Shenzhen. He graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts, in Hangzhou in 1995 and works with experimental poetry, photography, documentaries, video and interactive multi-media installations. Silent Auction

Yoshitaka Amano ¤Ñ³¥³ß§µ (b.1952)

Yoshitaka Amano was born in 1952 in Shizuoka City, Japan. Always fascinated by drawing, he joined the early Japanese anime movement in 1967, working on character design for a number of Japanese TV programs, including the series Kashaan and Tekkaman. Some of his masterpieces are deeply rooted in Hong Kong people's heart such as Gatchaman, Honey Bee and The Time Boken. Amano continues to inspire us, with his recent works, such as the world acclaimed Final Fantasy collection. His has exhibited prestigious museum and galleries worldwide including France's Orlean Museum of Art, Tokyo's Uenonomori Museum, The Angel Orensanz Foundation in New York, Germany's Kunstverein Heilbronn and London's Barbican Art Centre. Selected awards include the Seiun Award in 1983 and the Julie Award, Dragon Con Award and the Eisner Award in 2000. He was also nominated that same year for the Hugo Award.

Choi Yan Chi ½²¥Q«º (b. 1949)

An artist as well as an artist-curator, Choi Yan-chi received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has since been an active participant in Hong Kong art from the 1980s onwards. She is regarded as an activist of the new art movement in the territory. Her works represented Hong Kong at the First Asia Pacific Triennial Exhibition (1993) and in that same year she gave a solo show at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. She was named Hong Kong Arts Development Council Artist of the Year (1998). Her works have been exhibited in the United States, Canada, Germany and Australia and are included in the collection of the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.

Ha Bik Chuen was born in 1925 in Xinhui, Guangdong Province, China. Noritoshi Hirakawa ¥­¤t¨å«T (b.1960)

Noritoshi Hirakawa was born in 1960 in Fukuoka, Japan. He currently lives and works in New York. Hirakawa has held individual exhibitions in Tokyo, Paris, New York and Koln. Irene Lau Kwai Ying ¼B®Û­^ (b.1967)

Irene Lau Kwai Ying graduated with a B.A. degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University. She was Gold Prize Winner in the Third Korea Ceramic Biennale (2005) and has exhibited in Galerie Orem (Paris, 2005), Hong Kong Arts Centre (2005) and JL Ceramic Workshop (2003).

Lam Tung Pang ªLªFÄP (b.1978)

Born in 1978 in Hong Kong, Lam Tung Pang was one of the founders of studio opening in Fo Tan. He studied Fine Art at The Chinese University of Hong Kong before undertaking an MA at Central St Martins College of Art, London in 2004. He currently lives and works in London and Hong Kong. Lam has been awarded numerous scholarship and awards, including Hong Kong Finalist at the Nokia Art Awards- Asia Pacific (2000), Arts Scholarship from Hong Kong Arts Development Council (2003) and the Hunting Art Prizes Young Artist of the Year (2005, U.K.) He has exhibited extensively worldwide and has work in many private and public collections in the U.K., Spain, USA and Hong Kong, including the Hong Kong Museum of Art and University of the Arts in London.

Tozer Pak Sheung Chuen ¥ÕÂù¥þ (b.1977)

Originally from Fujian, Pak Sheung Chuen is a conceptual and performance artist and a regular art columnist at Ming Pao Daily Sunday Supplement. Pak obtained a B.A. in Fine Arts and Theology at Chinese University of Hong Kong and has been exhibited in the recent 6 th Busan Biennale (2006), ¡§Yellow Box Art Project¡¨ (Shanghai, 2006), ¡§Part in Progress¡¨ (Paris, 2006), ¡§Artysta z Hong Kong¡¨ (Warsaw, 2006) and ¡§Inward gazes ¡V Documentaries of Chinese Performance Arts¡¨ (Macao Museum of Art, 2005). He is the recipient of various awards such as the Lee Hysan Foundation Fellowship of Asian Cultural Council (Hong Kong, 2006) and the Overseas Exchange Prize of the Macao Museum of Art (Macau, 2005).
